Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.
A Prayer For Wisdom
Father, we are advised by the apostle James to ask for any wisdom we lack, and You will give generously to us that which we ask. So much wisdom is attained by carefully reading, studying, and applying the Scripture. Additional wisdom is granted through the experiences we go through in life and also observing others, their response to critical situations along with their life choices and the results that follow. There are many things we observe and learn as we go through life’s journey. Help us to hold on to that which will profit us, that which will benefit or broaden our understanding. Enable us to reject and dispense of that which is in direct contrast to Your Holy Word so that we are not led astray or misguided by teachings the world deems to be knowledgeable or wise. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.
Ezekiel 18:31-32
Rid yourselves of all the offenses you have committed, and get a new heart and a new spirit… Repent and live!
A Prayer For Trusting
Father, You have called us to a journey of faith where we learn to trust You for all that we have need of, for the present and the future – in our relationships, our health, our earthly provisions and our spiritual needs. Like the songwriter, Louisa Stead, wrote; “I’m so glad I learned to trust You, precious Jesus, Savior, Friend; For I know that You are with me; Will be with me to the end. Jesus, Jesus How I trust You, How I’ve proved You o’er and o’er; Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus, O for grace to trust You more.” Help us to find the sweetness of wholeheartedly trusting in You, we pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.
1 John 4:16
We know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him.
A Prayer Of Faith In God’s Care
Father, if You see a sparrow that falls to the ground; if you know the daily number of hairs that are on my head; if every snowflake that falls from heaven is uniquely designed by You why do I doubt that You have Your watchful and caring eye upon me for I am created in Your image. Forgive me when I doubt You or feel forsaken. Instead I want to trust You and believe Your Words that assures me, “Never will I leave you. Never will I forsake you.” “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.” “Nothing can separate me from the love of God; not tribulation or distress or persecution, famine or nakedness or peril or sword.” No in all these things, we are more than conquerors through Christ who loves us. In Jesus Name, Amen.
Hebrews 11:1
Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.
A Prayer To The Great I Am
Father, when You call upon us to do a task You give us signs along the way. On rare occasions they’re revealed in a supernatural way, but more often our calling is confirmed through prayer and Scripture, through the counsel of other believers, and through faith that You are directing our footsteps according to Your designed purpose. Just as Moses feared that people would not listen to him we also fear rejection. In the midst of such a struggle remind us that we do not seek personal attention or credit for anything we might do, for that would lead to pride and certain failure. Instead it is You, I AM that I AM, who commissions us, directs our steps, sustains us, and empowers us to carry out Your will day in and day out. We trust Your leading. Amen.
Psalm 143:10
Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on level ground.
A Prayer For The Family
Lord, in the looking glass of Your Word, may the choices I make this day honor You and also honor my family name. I choose a good name above riches, prestige or fame. I pray that I would reflect the good character that comes from following Christ to my present generation and that it would be passed on to the generations that follow, for the glory and honor of Your Holy Name. Amen.
