A Prayer Of Heavenly Anticipation

Father, citizenship affords many accommodations and provisions as well as their national identity. Most of us take our citizenship for granted since it comes to us when we’re naturally born into a particular country. But when we are born again we become citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives…for our citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. It is in His name that we come to You in prayer. Amen.

A Prayer For Enduring Love

Father, we thank You for the wonderful gift of love that we experience in a romantic relationship that often grows into a marital bond between a man and woman. It is a holy union in which we, as devout believers, make You the Cornerstone of our marriage and family. May we be a support to each other as we provide a loving and protective shelter from the bitter disappointments of life. May the fruit of the Spirit be evident in our daily walk both at home and in public places. Keep us wholly faithful to one another, rejecting every lustful temptation the devil sends our way. May we prove our love to each other with mutual respect, understanding, forgiveness, kindness, forbearance, and unity. In the precious name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

A Prayer For Pure Eyes

Father, may we honor You and respect ourselves as we fix our eyes and thought life upon whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely and whatever is admirable. Center our attention upon those things which are praiseworthy so that we build up others in the faith as the light of Christ radiates from our spirit to those around us. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

A Prayer For Faith And Obedience

Father, we thank You that You have promised to be our faithful Shepherd leading us in the paths of righteousness for Your name’s sake. We are guided, not by our own strength or wisdom lest it be inadequate or faulty, but in the knowledge and wisdom of our all-knowing, all-powerful God. It is not by might, nor by power but by Your Spirit that we can stand against the tactics of the enemy. Like Nehemiah, may our first impulse be that that of prayer and our second impulse be that of obedience. In the name of Jesus we ask these things. Amen.

A Prayer For God’s Strength

Father, I ask You be at the center of my thoughts, my attitudes and my conversations today. Would You keep me spiritually sensitive to opportunities for Christian witness. As You reign in my life You are my Master and I choose to be obedient to You, my Lord. Grant me the strength to trust You in the dark trials I may face today as I release my worries and fears to You. I confess that Your strength is perfect and altogether adequate. Help me to remember that I walk by faith and not by sight. “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” I desire to follow You, my King of Kings and Lord of Lords. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
