I myself am convinced, my brothers, that you yourselves are full of goodness, complete in knowledge and competent to instruct one another.
A Prayer For Those In Grief
Father, we thank You for the person of Jesus who showed us how to live a life set apart for You and all the while endured loss, pain, temptation, and other emotions common to mankind. When Jesus wept upon hearing of Lazarus’ death He showed His humanity in a way that all of us who’ve suffered loss can relate. He wept with those who wept and rejoiced with those who rejoiced. We too have opportunity to share in the grief of others as we remind them that they are not alone but have our prayerful and loving support as they endure their loss. Help us to reach out and extend ourselves to those in need. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.
Isaiah 2:22
Stop trusting in man, who has but a breath in his nostrils. Of what account is he?
A Prayer For Being Ready
Father, none of us knows the hour nor manner in which we will leave this life. Deaths result from accidents and natural disasters for both the godly and ungodly. But there is sweet assurance for those who remain when our loved ones who die before their prime are believers. It’s a fact that we will all one day perish so we want to be prepared for great and final event by repenting of our sins and living a life that properly prepares us for the final judgment. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.
Psalm 107:1
Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.
A Prayer For Overcomers
Father, we thank You for Jesus who intercedes for us in our hardships, persecution, dangers, poverty and troubles of all kinds. Amazingly, You develop in us a spirit that not only overcomes our difficulties, but enables us to overwhelmingly conquer the very thing that Satan intends to use in defeating us. The Apostle Paul found that he delighted in weaknesses and hardships because it was in his weakness that he found Your strength to be superior to his own. Your grace was sufficient for him to deal with his hardship. Yours is an overcoming, conquering strength unavailable to us through genetics, medicine, therapy, or mortal man. It comes only through personal unswerving faith in You and perseverance in prayer that we can overwhelmingly (hupernikomen) conquer our foe! Help us never to give up but hang in there as we endure and overcome the enemy’s arsenal. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.
Romans 8:1-2
Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death.
A Prayer For Restoration
Father, we rejoice with Valla in her new found relationship with her birth father. How wonderful that they share the same faith and same values enabling them to build a loving bond as father and daughter in their later adult years. There are millions of fatherless children who don’t know their birth fathers and feel unloved, unimportant and unwanted. We pray for responsible parenting and Biblical morality to be restored in our land. How desperately we need a revival where people will be saved, delivered, and reconciled to You, and seek to reconcile themselves to those they have cast aside. We pray for those who are still in the waiting period for a miracle such as Valla’s. May they find their sense of belonging and acceptance through You, our loving Father, and as joint heirs with Christ who gave His all that we might be adopted into Your eternal family. Amen.
1 Peter 5:6-7
Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
A Prayer For Preparing For Death
Father, from our birth to our death all our opportunities are governed by time. Every pursuit during our earthly sojourn has a beginning and an end, an orderly and purposeful arrangement designed by You. We must learn to accept Your plan along with its limitations which time and season impose including that of life and death. Since Your plan is revealed in Scripture we know how it will come to an end. Therefore we join our spirit with the Spirit of Christ so that we will, at the end of our earthly journey, hear the Spirit and the bride say, Come. That’s onesupreme invitation we don’t want to miss! And we’re invited because of Jesus who gave His all for us. We thank You, Father, for giving and we thank You, Jesus, for coming. Amen.
