The law was added so that the trespass might increase. But where sin increased, grace increased all the more, so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
A Prayer For Boldness
Father, in this depraved generation, darkness is sweeping across the land. At one time morality and virtuous behavior was applauded, but we now live in a time where good is called evil and evil is called good. Those who uphold Biblical truths are seen as archaic, old-fashioned, unenlightened, and even backward. May we not be confused by where the line crosses Your perfect will for our lives. We know in our hearts that teachings or lifestyles that defy Your holy Word is evil, not good. Enable us to “speak Your Word with great boldness” like Peter on the Day of Pentecost. May we not be intimidated or allow ourselves to be bullied into a position that contradicts that which is revealed in Your Holy Word. We rely on the power of Your Holy Spirit to live out our lives in a way that honors You. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
John 3:20-2
Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.
A Prayer For Living A Life Remembered Forever
Father, help me to store this vital Scripture today; “a righteous man will be remembered forever.” When I’m tempted to compromise my integrity in exchange for ungodly choices may this Scripture ring alarm bells in my heart and mind. Let its truth persuade me to say “no” to ungodliness and worldly passions so that I can live a self-controlled, upright and godly life in this present age, for Your way is the best and lasting way.
1 Peter 3:18
For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God.
A Prayer For A Needy World
Father, You provide the answers to life’s questions about everything that concerns us. In answer to life’s greatest question, “What must I do to inherit eternal life?” You sent Your Son to be our Savior who would die for our sins so that we might be forgiven and receive an abundant life here on earth and an eternal life in heaven. We are learning to trust in You with all our hearts and not rely on our own understanding. We want to acknowledge You in all areas of our life so that we will seek You above all and the counsel in Your Holy Word for the answers to life’s questions. Jesus truly is the answer for the world today, for He is the Way, the Truth and the Life. Amen.
Ecclesiastes 2:10-11
I denied myself nothing my eyes desired; I refused my heart no pleasure. My heart took delight in all my work, and this was the reward for all my labor. Yet when I surveyed all that my hands had done and what I had toiled to achieve, everything was meaningless, a chasing after the wind; nothing was gained under the sun.
A Prayer For Endurance Through Trials
Jesus, You forewarned us that we would undergo persecution if we choose to follow You. But we’re also promised that we will receive the crown of life as we hold firmly to the faith. Ours is not a journey for the faint of heart, but a journey where we endure more than just a moment, more than just for a day. We endure to the end so that we who withstand the test will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love Him. Keep us trusting and faithful until that day. In Your name we pray. Amen.
Hebrews 10:30-31
For we know him who said, “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” and again, “The Lord will judge his people.” It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
A Prayer For Being Ready
Father, depending on the state of our hearts we view the Scriptures about death or the return of Your Son in dread, as a warning or as a welcoming. We prepare our hearts by trusting You and asking You for the forgiveness of sins and inviting You to reign in our lives. We pray for those we love that they too will make spiritual preparations for their death or to be ready for the trumpet sound when the dead in Christ rise first and then we who believe will be caught up to meet Jesus in the skies. We have been warned, let us be prepared, and welcome with great anticipation the time when we will transition or at the second coming of our Lord. We lift up our heads as our redemption draws near. Amen.
